Soybean

Rainfall is forecasted in the soybean producing districts of Maharshtra. Strong arrivals are acheived at Indore mandi in MP as the biggest soybean producing state and also in Maharashtra. The arrivals have also been started in Rajasthan,however bulk arrivals will start after 3-4 days .
According to sources “Indian traders are offering soya meal at much lower price than Brazil and Argentina, which is attracting importing nations to inquire for Indian soya meal. “

The total arrivals increased sharply whereas the prices got a slight increment in the last two days.

Musturd


Almost dry weather is prevailing in the major musturd producing districts as Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat. The sowing of musturd crop is continued and will complete in 8-10 days in Rajasthan. However, the sowing in Maharshtra is near to its completion.

Mung


Rainfall is forecasted in the major mung producing districts of Maharashtra. Mung arrivals are continued in bulk in Maharashtra. However the farmers move to the sowing of chana and wheat.
Dry weather and mild temperature is prevailing in most districts of Rajasthan. Heavy arrivals will remains same upto 10-15 days. The crop arrivals are good from previous year but excess rainfall in Rajasthan adversely affected the crop than expected.

The total arrivals of groundnut have increased by 100 quintals whereas the prices have decreased by Rs 200/quintal in last two days.

Cotton


The cotton arrivals in Maharashtra have been started .However bulk arrivals starts after 10-15 days. It is forecasted that North Andhra Pradesh may get rain. However the harvesting is continued in Andhra Pradesh ,small arrivals have been started.

The total arrivals of cotton have increased by 800 quintals whereas the prices have decreased by Rs 100/quintal in last two days.

Soybean

The mild weather is prevailing in major soybean producing states Madhya Pradesh, Maharasthra and Rajasthan. However it is expected that some parts of Coastal Maharashtra may get light rains.
However in Rajasthan bulk arrivals will start after 10-15 days.

Groundnut

The moderate rainfall is prevailing in major parts of south Gujarat. The groundnut arrivals have started in Gujarat .The Saurashtra Oil Millers Association (SOMA) has put an estimated production figure of 20 lakh tonnes this time -- a 100 per cent increase from the previous year. Small arrivals have been started in Tamil Nadu.

Urad

Sugarcane North

The dry weather is prevailing in the major sugarcane producing state as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Bihar. Harvesting of the crop is started. However, the sugar percentage in sugarcane is less due to high quantity of water in the crop which consequently effects the prices of the crop. The sugar mills have decided to buy at low prices.
The sugarcane department had estimated loss of almost 6 percent to the standing sugarcane crop due to flood in some districts.
In Bihar, the moisture is very helpful for the late sown February-March crop however the harvesting will start at the end of October for the early sown crop.

Chilli

The widespread rainfall in the major chilli producing states Tamil Nadu and Kerala will be beneficial for the growth of the transplanted chili crop. The southwest monsoon have almost withdrawn from the states of Rajasthan,Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh ,Uttar Pradesh ,Bihar and Gujarat. Westerly winds have set in.
Moisture depletion will take place at quick pace. Therefore it is advisable to conserve the moisture urgently under rainfed condition for sowing of musturd and gram and other crops in the month of October.

Kerala

In the major pepper producing districts [Kannur, Kasargod, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Pathanamthitta, Thiruvanthapuram] the rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH in the last ten days were 72.3-208.8 mm,19.6-30.5 C and 85.1-89.1 %. Crop is in the process of berry development at the lower reaches . However flowering is almost completing at higher reaches. The humid ,hot condition and rainfall will boost the growth of berry.

Tamil Nadu

In the major pepper producing districts [Namakkal, Nilgiri, Dindigur] the rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH in the last ten days were 59.1-106.2 mm,18.3-32.2 C and 80.3-88 %.The forecasted rainfall will facilitate the berry development.

Cotton



Andhara Pradesh

In the major cotton producing districts [Adilabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Guntur, Nalgonda, Warangal] the rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH in the last ten days were 26.7-134.6 mm,22.6-33.3 C and 77.1-88.3 %.The crop is in square formation and initiation of flowering. The rainfall and humid ,hot condition will be beneficial for the development of the above processes particularly in the long staple cotton varieties. The crop stages will be advanced in short staple cotton varieties.

Gujarat

In the major cotton producing districts [Kachchh, Patan, Mahesana, Sabarkantha, Ghandhinagar, Surendranagar, Vadodra, Narmada, Bharuch, Bhavnagar, Junagarh, Amreli, Rajkot, jamnagar] the rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH in the last ten days were 3.2-28.0 mm,21.8-34.4 C and 77-88.7 %.Crop is in boll development stage and difference of day night temperature may facilitate opening of boll among early varieties and boll development in late varieties.

Punjab

In the major cotton producing districts [Faridkot, Muktsar, Bhatinda, Ferozpur, Mansa] the rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH in the last ten days were 40.3-62.3 mm,22.1-30.8 C and 88.3-90.4 %. The crop is in final stage of boll development and may likely to start opening of boll for harvesting due to differences of day night temperature. Picking of desi cotton will commence as weather is favourable .


Maharashtra

In the major cotton producing districts [Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldhana, Jalgaon, Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Parbhani, Nanded] the rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH in the last ten days were 11.8-100.6 mm,20.7-32.2 C and 84.4-87.8 %.The crop is in flowering and boll development stage.

Coffee



Kerala


In the major coffee producing districts [Kasargod, Kannur, Palakkad, Wayanad] the rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH in the last ten days were 35.6-178.9 mm,19.4-29.4 C and 85.1-88.8 %.The berries are in the final stage of development in Arabica type where harvesting commences from October-December. However, at lower reaches in Robusta the weather condition are favourable for development of berries.

Tamil Nadu

In the major coffee producing districts [Coimbatore, Salem, Dharmapuri, Dindigur] the rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH in the last ten days were 21.5-106.2 mm,19.3-31.5 C and 79.6-82 %.The continuation of rainfall and forecasted rainfall will help the berry development. In Arabica type berry development is almost complete.

Karnataka

In the major coffee producing districts [Haveri, Chikmagalur, Medikeri] the rainfall(cumulative),temperature and RH in the last ten days were 106.2-175.6 mm,18.8-29.1 C and 88.3-90.9 %.The continuance of rainfall ,and mild weather condition will facilitate berry development at lower reaches. At higher elevation in Arabica type berry development is almost complete.
