Sugarcane North
Sugarcane harvesting is in full swing in Uttar Pradesh. Crushing has begun in the mills. Late rainfall this year resulted in higher moisture content in cane, leading to a lower recovery of sucrose - an intermediary product. Sugarcane harvest has been delayed in Uttar Pradesh this year by nearly a month due to a tussle between farmers and sugar mills over cane prices.

Pea
Pea crop is in seed development to flowering stages in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Dry weather will have mixed effects as sunny skies will prevent any pest or diseases infestation whereas crop growth can take a hit due to lack of moisture.
