Crop Weather Forecast 10/12/2009









Cotton
Harvesting of cotton crop in north-west parts of India is almost completed. Slightly higher temperature during day time and normal temperature during night facilitated the harvesting.
Winter rains in the states of Karnataka, Tamilnadu & Southern parts of AndhraPradesh is helpful for the long duration cotton crop.
Market arrivals in the districts of Gujarat have decreased about 5800 tonnes whereas decrease of about 200 Rs/quintal in prices were noticed from 8thDec to 9thDec.

Cashew
Light scattered rainfall in the coastal region of Kerala, Tamilnadu and Karnataka is expected in the coming days that will be beneficial for the cashew crop.

Wheat

India

Declining normal temperature in central part of India(Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh)is conducive for the early sown wheat crop which is in flowering stages.

Sowing of the wheat crop continues in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh,Bihar and Assam. Declining day time temperature in these states is also conducive for the crop.

According to the government sources,the arrivals of wheat has decreased by 5000 tonnes. No significant change in the prices were noticed.

Harvesting of wheat continues in North South Wales and Western part of Australia. The Australian wheat board has estimated lesser production of wheat as compared to last year.

Sowing of Soft red winter wheat continues across Northern belt of America.

Crop weather report 7/12/2009


Mustard
India
Slightly higher temperatures in the North-west plain zone is hastening flowering and fruiting of normal sown mustard crop.
However, late sown mustard crop is in vegetative and flowering stage.
Harvesting and post harvesting activities of early sown(in September) crop of toria and mustard will be completed by end of December.
According to government sources,arrivals of mustard in mandi's have decreased sharply. A slight change in prices was noticed.

Australia
Harvesting and post harvest activities continues in the western part of Australia. Australia is expecting a drop in canola production due to dry conditions in the major producing areas in southern part of country.

Canada
Crushing of canola continues. The country has recorded higher production although majority of the crop has been affected by Salmonella.


Groundnut
India
Harvesting and post harvest activities continue smoothly in the states of Gujrat,Rajasthan,Madhya Pradesh and Punjab.
Light scattered rainfall received in the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka will be beneficial for the sown crop which is establishment and germination stages.

Pepper-
