Cardamom
India
Harvesting of early sown cardamom crop has commenced in the states of Kerela, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Light scattered rains along with normal temperature in the coastal region of Tamil Nadu and Kerela will be beneficial for the late sown crop which is in capsule development stages.

Sri Lanka
Light rains are beneficial for the cardamom crop. Harvesting of cardamom will commence from mid-December.

Vietnam
Normal temperature and optimum soil conditions are conducive for the cardamom crop which is in flowering stages.





Pepper
India
Harvesting of pepper has commenced in the states of Tamil Nadu and Kerela.
Light rainfall in the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerela and Karnataka will be beneficial for the late sown crop and plantation in the hilly regions.

Sowing activities have started in the Sarawak region of the country. Normal temperature and optimum soil conditions will be conducive for the establishment of the pepper crop.

Light to moderate rainfall will be conducive for the already sown pepper crop.





Jeera
India
Sowing of Jeera continues in parts of Gujrat. High day time temperatures and low night temperatures are favorable for the early sown jeera crop which is in flowering stages. However increase in day time temperature in previous fortnight may be a concern as the crop is sensitive to high temperature.

Dry and normal temperature in much part of the country has encouraged harvesting and post harvesting activities.






Chilli

India

Harvesting and post harvest activities continue smoothly in the states of Rajasthan,Gujrat and Punjab.
Dry weather conditions in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra will also encourage harvesting activities.
Production is likely to be low as compared to last year due to drought like conditions in the sowing period.
According to government sources,the arrivals at Guntur mandi increased by 21 tonnes. The prices also increased by Rs 600 per quintal.

Pakistan
Dry and normal weather will encourage harvesting and post harvest activities in major producing areas.

Sri Lanka
Light rainfall will be beneficial for the chilli crop. Harvesting of the chilli crop will commence from end of December.






Turmeric
India
Harvesting and post harvest activities continue smoothly in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Orissa.
Turmeric production is expected to be higher around 55 lakh bags(70 kg) each in the coming year on account of increased acreage.
According to government sources,an increase in both arrivals and prices were noticed at the mandi's.
