Crop Weather Report 04/02/2010


Cotton
Harvesting and post harvest activities of cotton crop in the states of Maharashtra & Gujarat are near completion. Dry weather prevailing in the states of Maharashtra & Gujarat will be conducive for cotton picking and post harvest activities.
Current dry weather in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh is also beneficial for the picking of long duration cotton crop.
According to Cotton Advisory Board cotton exports show a good rise this year.

Low temperatures in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Bihar, Rajasthan, UttarPradesh, is conducive for the wheat crop. However, persisting fog and high humidity is injurious for the crop as it is favourable for foliar diseases.
The early sown wheat crop in the states of MadhyaPradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, is benefited by the current low temperatures in these states.
Market arrivals have decreased by 300 tonnes whereas no significant change in the prices were noticed during last two days.
