Dry weather and optimum day and night temperatures are favourable for the post harvesting activities in the states of Maharashtra, AndhraPradesh, Tamilnadu and Karnataka.
Higher temperature and sunny days are conducive for harvesting of crop for sugar production as well gur production among above states.
According to government sources sugar prices in India have dropped 19 percent from a record on Jan. 8 as production rose and the government took steps to boost supplies.
