Wheat

Dry weather persisting over North India is congenial for the Wheat crop that has been complete in over 15% of the total targeted area of 28 million hectares this season. Sowing in Punjab and Haryana is in the last phase whereas it is picking up in states like Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Area under the crop is expected to increase in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and east Uttar Pradesh due to good rains and conserved moisture.

Guar

Light rain expected in southeast & south Rajasthan will delay the harvesting of the crop to some extent. Harvesting of the new crop has reportedly started in some areas in Rajasthan and Haryana. Delayed arrivals in the mandis too had a moderately bullish impact on the prices. Some concerns over crop quality are there and the arrivals would start picking up from next few days.

Jeera

Jeera sowing continues in most parts of Gujarat. Light to moderate rainfall persists here; causing drop in temperature that is favourable for the sowing as crop requires low temperatures for germination.
