Cotton

Punjab
In the major growing area of Punjab (Faridkot, Muktsar, Bhatinda, Ferozpur and Mansa), Cotton crop is in growth stage .The prevailing humid hot weather condition and very good cumulative rainfall for the last ten days have facilitated vegetative growth of the crop which will help for square formation and flowering.

In the central zone, the states of Gujarat , Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra received widespread rainfall which facilitated sowing of cotton crop in the last week of June and first week of July. The continuing hot and humid condition and well distributed rainfall facilitated the growth and development of the crop . It is expected that during this year cotton production will be increased.

Andhra Pradesh
Among the major districts Adilabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Guntur, Nalgonda and Warangal the cumulative rainfall for last ten days varied between 75-123mm and the temperature variation was between 24-33 C which is very much congenial for the early-growth stage of the cotton crop.
