Arhar
India
Post harvesting activities of early maturing Arhar continues in the state of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh,Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
Light rainfall in the states of east Uttar Pradesh,Bihar and Central India are conducive for the arhar crop which is in flowering stage.
Light irrigation and burning of straw to create smoke to safeguard against frost would be useful for the late maturing arhar crop.

Heavy rain in Brazil's key rice-producing state has caused losses to local rice farmers.
Over half of the 240,000 hectares of flooded rice farms had not been planted yet. The region produces nearly two thirds of the total rice output in Brazil. The planting season has been extended.
