Tea

India
Arrivals continue from southern states of Tamil Nadu and Kerela.
Light scattered rainfall in the states of Tamil Nadu,Kerela is beneficial for the tea crop. Rainfall in the state of Assam is also beneficial for the current cycle of tea.
Production of tea is likely to increase in the current season.

Sri Lanka
Recent light to moderate rainfall in Sri Lanka is conducive for the tea plantation. Picking will commence from January.


Kenya

Tea production increased by 4-6% in the month of December due to moderate rainfall and warm weather.



Coffee
India
Arrivals of coffee continue from Karnataka,Tamil Nadu and Kerela. Light rainfall in the states of Kerela,Tamil Nadu and south Karnataka is beneficial for the coffee berries which is in maturing stages.

Guatemala
Arrivals continue from Guatemala. Light rainfall and normal temperature favors healthy coffee plantation.

Mexico
Moderate rainfall along with warm temperatures in the coastal regions are beneficial for the plantation.


Cotton

India
Harvesting and post harvest activities of cotton is taking place in Maharashtra and Gujrat.
Arrivals of cotton continue from the states of Punjab,Haryana,Rajasthan,Gujrat and Maharashtra. Picking has started in the states of Karnataka,Andhra Pradesh and Tamil nadu.
Light rainfall along with normal temperature in the states of Tamil Nadu and south Karnataka are conducive for the long duration cotton crop.
Production is estimated to increase for the season 2009-10 despite less rainfall in the growing season.

Crop damage due to below normal temperature and precipitation in the form of rainfall and snow has been reported from the country.
