Maize
India
Harvesting of maize crop continues in the state of Maharashtra,south Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
Light rain in the states of Uttar Pradesh,Punjab, Haryana and parts of Assam brought relief for the winter maize crop as it may safeguard against frost damage.
According to the government sources,the arrivals of maize has reduced on 2nd January. However, slight increase was noticed in the prices.

Kenya
Harvesting of Maize continues in Kenya. The production of maize is likely to reduce due to erratic rains in the long rainy season.

Brazil
Warm temperature and light rainfall will be beneficial for the corn crop which is in vegetative growth stage.




Chana
India
Light rainfall in the states of Punjab,Haryana,and parts of Uttar Pradesh are conducive for the chana crop which is in vegetative growth stage.
Normal day time temperature and low night temperature in the states of Maharashtra,Gujrat,Tamil Nadu are conducive for the chana crop which is in reproductive stage.
Scattered rainfall in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka is beneficial for the chana crop which in reproductive stage.
Alert:- In next 3-4 days, temperatures are likely to fall which can lead to crop damage. Light irrigation will be required to safeguard against frost damage.

Pakistan
Mild temperatures along with light scattered rainfall in parts of Punjab and Sindh are beneficial for the chana crop which is in vegetative stage.

Arrivals from Australia continues. Dry and warm weather in the western part of the country will facilitate harvesting.





Peas

India
Light rainfall in the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh is conducive for the peas crop which is in flowering and fruiting stage.
Light rainfall in previous days along with normal temperature in the states of Bihar,West Bengal and Chattisgarh is conducive for the peas crop which is in flowering to development stages.
Crop need irrigation to safeguard against frost damage in northern India. Burning of straw will be required to avoid the frost damage as temperature is likely to go down further.

India
Arrivals of mung bean have commenced from north-western part of India.
