Soybean
Most of the soybean varieties will flower and mature to quickly grown under condition where day length is less then 14 hours provided that temperature is also favorable. Therefore, in India soybean can be planted from 3rd week of June to first fortnight of July. However, maximum yield was achieved when planting of soybean was made in the last week of June.
The suitable temperature for soybean is 15 -22 C at emergence, 22-25 C at flowering and 15-22 C at maturity. Its seed yield increased as temperature increased between 18/12 (Day/night) ans 26/20 C. Rising temperature from 29/20 to 34/20 C during seed filling stage may decrease soybean yield. The crop is in flowering and seed development stages. Rainfall at the time of flowering cause the flower drops which reduces the yield level.
