Sugarcane South

Maharashtra
Among the districts Pune, Ahmadnagar, Nashik, Sangli, Kolhapur, Satara, Solapur, Osamanabad, Latur, Hingoli, Parbhani, Yavatmal the temperature varies between 21-28 C and the cumulative rainfall for the last ten days lies between 33-203 mm.

Karnataka
Among the districts Bidar, Bellary, Chittradurga, Shimoga, Bagalkot, Belgaum and Bijapur the temperature varies between 20-31 C and the cumulative rainfall for the last ten days lies between 8-56 mm except Shimoga where rainfall was 386 mm .

In Maharashtra and Karnataka sugarcane sowing is undertaken in July-August ,October-November and December-February .The crop is in various stages of growth due to sowing at different months. Humid hot condition and rainfall received in Maharashtra is conducive for the growth and cane development of the crop.

Limited rainfall and low temperature may affect the crop in Karnataka .


Andhra Pradesh
Among the districts Medak, Nizamabad, Srikakulam, Vizianagram, Vishahapatnam, East Godavari, Krishna, Khammam, Nellore and Chittor the temperature varies between 23-31 C and the cumulative rainfall for the last ten days lies between 9-75 mm. The humid hot condition prevailing and forecasted rainfall in upcoming fortnight will benefit the crop.


Tamil Nadu
Among the districts Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Villuparam , Perambaur, Cuddalore, Salem, Dharmapuri, Karur, Dindigul, Coimbatore and Erode the temperature varies between 20-34 C and the cumulative rainfall for the last ten days lies between 6-25 mm.
The scanty rainfall and higher temperature may affect the crop growth hence supplemental irrigation required.

Maize

Andhra Pradesh
Among the maize producing districts Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Krishna, West Godavari, Mahabubnagar, Guntur ,the cumulative ten days rainfall received is 31-204 mm and the temperature varied between 24-34 C which is very much beneficial for the flowering and development of the cob.

Karnataka
The rainfall and moderate temperature among the major growing districts Belgaum, Haveri, Bellary, Gadag, Bagalkot, Hassan and Shimoga is 8-163 mm and 20-31 C. In Shimoga rainfall was 386 mm . The prevailing weather condition is favourable for flowering, pollination and cob development.

Madhya Pradesh
The cumulative rainfall for last ten days in the major producing districts Chindwara, Betul, Rajgarh, Ujjain, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Sidhi, Shivpuri is 51-130 mm and the temperature varied between 22-32 C. Overall weather condition are very much favourable for the growth and development of the crop.

The major maize producing districts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan received late monsoon that delayed sowing however, the prevailing good weather conditions have been favourable for the growth and development of the crop.

Excess rain water if stagnate in the maize crop field, the roots are affected and crop is damaged. Therefore, proper care is required for draining out excess water from the field.

Groundnut:


Gujarat
Among the districts Surat, Bhavnagar, Amreli, Rajkot, Porbandar, Jamnagar, Surendranagar, Sabarkantha the temperature is ranging between 23-30 C and rainfall varied between 95-231 mm . The prevailing weather condition is favourable for the growth and development of the crop.

Rajasthan
The cumulative rainfall and temperature for the last ten days varied between 14-60 mm and temperature 26-34 C among the districts Sikar, Tonk, Jodhpur and Bikaner. The rainfall, temperature and prevailing weather condition is favourable for the vegetative growth of the crop.

Karnataka
In the major growing districts Bijapur, Belgaum, Gadag, Bellary, Kolar, Chitradurga and Tumkur the cumulative rain in last ten days varied between 8-56 mm except in Chitradurga where rainfall was 375 mm and and temperature is 20-31 C . The prevailing weather condition is favourable for the initiation of flowering and peg development.

The major groundnut growing districts of Tamil Nadu (Vellore, Erode and Namakkal) received less rainfall received from 6-12 mm and temperature varied between 20-33 C .
The crop is in flowering,pegging and nut development. Wherever, rainfall are less than requirement, supplemental irrigation is required.

The weather condition in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Punjab is favourable for the growth of the crop.

Groundnut crop does not require too much rainfall therefore, drainage of excess water from the field is essential for proper airation.
